Our Programs |
Our driver education program is supported by leading research and based on a number of key elements and objectives, these are:
- Establishing safe driving techniques and principles
- Target young people (unlicensed, non learner driver)
- Learning based on achieving competencies through adult learning principles
- Improving cognitive processes and driver assessment skill acquisition
- Raising awareness on road trauma, human and social costs of fatalities and injuries
- Changing our approach and attitudes towards road safety
- Understanding basic vehicle dynamics
- Establishing Driving goals
- Establishing participant baseline knowledge on road safety principles through checklist and survey
- Hazard and risk perception, peer pressure and risk management
- Basic vehicle dynamics, understanding cornering, effective braking and vehicle placement
- Attitude, Fitness, Approach, Fatigue and Road design
- Vehicle Safety Systems & Maintenance
Courses are delivered through a range of options and are classroom based. They involve a variety of learning modes including peer learning, discussions, self learning and mentioning. Learning techniques include hands on P.C. simulator exercises, videos, guest speakers and site visits.
Our program also contains a parent education component that aims at providing consistent information and learning of key course objectives for participants (youth & adult). Courses are also designed to have the flexibility to be integrated into other school curriculum.
